CCHC Hong Kong has found a new home! In May 2007, the board of CCHC HK held a meeting to evaluate the ministry over the past five years and forecast the future ministry on long-term perspective. They came to a conclusion that we should sell the current office in the expensive Lan-Kuay-Fung quarters to buy a new office that should have double or triple the capacity for development. Later on, we purchased a unit of 2,800 square feet (with 70% actual usage) in New Territory. The closure went smoothly in October this year and we expect to finish renovations sometime in January or February of 2008. We need your prayer support to see the project through in God’s hand. May the Lord expand our tent and broaden our ministry of reaching out to the community by adding more ministries in addition to the Herald Monthly. |

When I was pursuing my masters degree in Christian Research (majoring in mass communications), I prayed that the Lord would provide me with a job where I could practice what I learned. Then the Lord opened the door for me to join the Herald Monthly HK, as an editor. The five-year journey of study and work has not been easy. I struggled with the throught of quitting one in order to focus on the other. However, the Heavenly Father sustained, comforted and provided me strength to continue with both endeavors. My paper for graduation was entitled “Herald Monthly, Hong Kong. ” While writing it, I realized that Herald Monthly has become a bridge between seekers and Christian faith, and an effective tool for them to grow at church. My sincere wish is that CCHC will continue to serve the community and bring the flock to the Father’s care. |

When the Hong Kong Herald Monthly has its first inaugural issue, I was working as a printing agent and was not a Christian yet. Every month, the staff of CCHC would invite me to pray with them and gradually I got to be connected with the Lord. In His perfect timing, I accepted Jesus as my personal Savior and later on joined CCHC. My walk with the Lord grows as I attend the daily co-worker prayer meetings and the weekly morning worship services. Professionally, I used to only have the knowledge in print and color separation but now my horizon has been expanding - I am learning how to edit, plan and approach different areas of publishing. Our sharing amongst the staff also helps me to grow in the Lord and walk in His steps. I’m no longer |

My father’s death 14 years ago has helped me to be more aware of the needs of cancer patients and their families. In 2004, the Lord led me to join the big family of CCHC L.A. and the CCHC Cancer Association. Not only was I given the privilege to serve the Chinese community, but my spiritual life has strengthened as well. At the end of last year, I got married and together with my husband we left his parents in L.A. and moved to Hong Kong. In June 2007, I was told that CCHC Hong Kong was looking for staff in advertisement and promotion, so I joined the ministry as a part-time marketing assistant. Compared to my secular jobs from the past, the ministry brings me more fulfillments in the Lord. Experiencing God while working with my co-workers has encouraged me greatly. My faith has grown and I’ve found my place in God’s plan. |

I have learned a lot in CCHC’s ministry. God calls people from diverse backgrounds, connects them with a vision and encourages their faith to grow by helping them to accomplish impossible missions. My vision has become broader and my love for fellow mankind has deepened after I joined CCHC. I’m also encouraged by many loving supporters. When we were raising funds for our new office, a woman of my mother’s age wrote a check and said, “I wonder if this amount will be sufficient for the project, if not, I can donate more…” Her act of love has impacted me ever since...it’s not the amount of money that counts, but the love! One time I got a call from an elderly lady from the States to cheer us on. I was deeply touched! Another letter from a new believer who was converted during a phone conversation with us has also greatly encouraged me. These acts of love and appreciation have gladdened our hearts to keep on serving the Lord. |

When I first joined CCHC Hong Kong, the Associate Executive Director gave me a 21st anniversary annual report which had the theme of “Treasure Our Mission Workers and Build Up Our Strenth for World Evangelism”. This title has encouraged me to be totally dedicated to the ministry, serving the Lord with all my heart, mind and strength. Through the past years, I learned that aside from building up good relationships and communicating with our customers, I also need to plan ahead for marketing and distribution strategies the most important issue concerns character: I need to have patience in answering the caller’s questions and be cautious in editing advertisements. I have also been trained to deal with unexpected incidents with a prayerful heart as we tackle the problems we encounter in the distribution. I praise the Lord for His training and renewal, and His words of encouragement from the Bible. |

Our Heavenly Father led me to CCHC two years ago. I realized that a plain-looking publication like the Herald Monthly is a treasure in His eyes. Each time we receive a conversion response form from a reader by mail, we are thrilled. We also love to answer readers’ questions on Christian faith over the phone. My husband had cancer and father’s death took place around the same time I started serving at CCHC. I was exhausted physically and drained emotionally. It was also the toughest experience I have ever had in my life. However, the support from my co-workers carried me through the valley of the shadow of death. I’m so grateful to our Heavenly Father for bringing me to the CCHC family first and then allowed the tribulations to occur on me. The comfort and support I receive here make me feel that I’m not alone on this journey. Praise the Lord for He is good. |
