Updated Appeal
At 2:28pm, May 12, 2008, the Wenchuan County of Sichuan province in China was hit by the 7.9 magnitude earthquake. It affected 8 neighboring provinces: Sichuan, Shanxi, Gansu, Chongqing, Yunnan, Shanxi, Guizhou, and Hubei. These regions have all received extensive damage. Many schools, houses, factories have collapsed, and many main roadways have been blocked. Thousands have died and many are still reported missing. The total population of one particular county in Wenchuan province was over 12,000, but only 3,000 people have survived. The region has been devastated by the earthquake, with children losing their parents, parents losing their beloved children and relatives, and citizens seeing their fellow neighbors lost to the earthquake. Disaster victims are suffering from thirst, hunger, and many have been displaced from their homes.
In partnership with the China Red Across Foundation, CCHC will collect donations to help the victims of this earthquake.
Neither CCHC nor the China Red Across Foundation will charge any administrative fees so that 100% of the funds will be directed toward relief work. Rev. David Lee, the CCHC's Southern California Superintendent, will lead the LA team to visit the damaged areas. They will give out food, water and tents for emergency use. They will also help to rebuild schools and homes. We are urging everyone to support these disaster victims.
Please send a donation to help with disaster relief by writing a check payable to CCHC and send it to: 48 Allen Street, New York, NY 10002. Please specify “China earthquake “on the memo line.

Thank You!
CCHC is a non-profit organization; upon receiving your generous donations, we will mail out receipts for income tax purposes. 100% of the funds will be directed toward the disaster victims.
