| Prayer Letter of November 2007
Words from the Principal:
I named the month of November the Month of Thanksgiving. We have three workshops about Thanksgiving on thr ee consecutive weekends. Stephen is the speaker. Children concentrate on the pictures as well as the story. He talks about the life of Squanto and how Squanto helped the Pilgrims to survive the winter in 1620. The next year, the Pilgrims had a big festival to show their gratitude to God and to Squanto and his friends who had a hand on their lives.
Children had an assignment to write ten items that they are thankful for and five thank you lettersto whom they want to say thank you.
On November 18, children cook their own dinner to show their appreciation to their house-parents.
And last but not least, on Thanksgiving Night, we will have a big meal!!!!!
We are all overwhelmed in the atmosphere of Thanksgiving!
M ay you enjoy the Great Holiday with us !
Who is Squanto?!
What is Thanksgiving? How did people celebrate Thanksgiving? Who was Squanto? Where did the Pilgrims come from ? Children concentrated on the story and enjoyed the pictures on the screen. They were nervous when Squanto were kidnapped again and again, and they were joyful when Squanto can come back home. They admired the big feast of Thanksgiving and they knew that Thanksgiving is not about food but “a thankful heart toward the good deed people had done for them”
Two of the children wrote 200 items to be thankful for. More than fifteen children wrote 100 items.
They all wrote at least five letters to show their gratitude to their love ones.

Cooking, cooking with love!
Children cooked their own dinner on November 18. Some children went out to get food, some cut it, and some cooked it. They were all busy in the kitchen. And all house-parents enjoyed a movie in the movie room until dinner was ready.
Yummy, yummy! It was delicious! Thank you baby!!!
The Thanksgiving Dinner !!!!
We tried to have the Thanksgiving Dinner as good as it can be. Two chickens cooked with soy sauce for one table (no Turkey at all and the chickens here are very small size), mash potatoes, cauliflower, Pumpkin Pie! Chocolate cookies! And Coke!!
Thank you Stephen’s mom. She mailed the recipe so that we can ma ke the Pumpkin Pie.
Happy Thanksgiving every body! Cheer!!!!!!!!!!!!
Best children in October
It is easy to get the worse one but it is pretty hard to decide who ‘s the best children, you know what I think. Finally we had Jane and Sam. They get a prize from Danny from La. A beautiful and colorful backpack and a kite with thirty butterflies as a tail! Imagine when it flies in the sky. Wow!!!
You should named him “zhang Hua cun”!!!!!
Jason did not name his baby until couple days before Thanksgiving. He came to Dorcas and told her that the baby is named Zhang Hua Cun. The Hua Cun is the first letter and the last letter of Gratia Children Village in Chinese. The Great Uncle told Jason that he received so much grace from the Children Village, that he should name the child in this way to remember God’s grace.
Hallelujah, Praise to the Lord!
“Heart Prints”:
Dear Auntie Xu:
You are not too tall, but you are very good auntie. You told us that if there were a Children Village to tak e you when you were 12 years old, you could be a doctor. But there was not such a chance. Then you became our principal. I remember many times that I threw my temper, you forgave me and forgave me. I wouldn’t forget it for my whole life.
Happy Thanksgiving!
(This is some words from his heart. He is my “Crazy Cow”. It is scary when he is mad. But he is improving, thanks God.)
Dear Committees:
We are so thankful that you care for us so that we are not hungry. We have room to live, we have clothes and we have food. Thank you for going around to raise fund for us. We can live in the Children Village happily. We are like the birds, Auntie Xu is like our Grandma, our house-parents are like our own mama and you are our caring Angels of love.
November is the Month of Thanksgiving. I would like to tell you: Thank you, Thank you and Thankyou!!!!!!
Happy Thanksgiving! Children from CV.
Dear Mr. and Mrs. W.O.:
My name is Joelle, I am ten years old, a third grader. Even though I only get 76 and 89 in my literature and math, but I really want to become a good and honest girl. I have been in the Children Village for one year. I know that you helped us a lot. Auntie Xu mentioned you all the time.
Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Dear Angels and supporters:
Greeting!
I miss you all. I am thankful that you send money every month so that we have food and clothes.
Before, we ate one fourth of an apple, now we have half of it. Thank you for your help. Do have peace in you and Auntie Xu. I will become a good girl, I will study hard. I won’t make you disappointed in me.
November is the month of Thanksgiving, thank you for bringing us light so that we have knowledge.
You are just our born again parent. Thank you.
Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
Separation Anxiety
Due to her family emergency, Ms. Wang Xia had to leave Children Village. She had mixed feeling. “I am happy to go home but I’ll miss these children. Bin Bin wrote me a letter that said, “whenever I misbehave, it is you to help me with love.” I am touched by his letter. I can only lift up all my sorrow into God’s hand. I believe that God will glorify Himself through His children. I am confident that if we love these little ones with the love of Jesus, they will grow up, they will change and they will be prosperous.”
Let’s “pray” and not “ask” for this month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
